Story Behind the Image ~ Inspired by Salvador Dali’s “Beatrice,” Dante’s real muse and literary angelic guide through Paradise, Homage to Dali’s Beatrice reflects the dichotomy of women: strong yet gentle. Her firm profile epitomizes an exaggerated inner strength softened with silhouettes of birds among curling locks of hair. A living goddess, she’s one with nature – the world and herself. wearing her crown of roses graced by a hummingbird, who too is simultaneously strong, demur and at peace.

Story Behind the Image ~ Captivated by the golden sun rays pass through the forest mixing with the warm scents of fall - all spice, cinnamon and lemon - I created this abstract image in camera. Later I learned that forests throughout the Smokies are undergoing a major ecological shift due to the die-off of millions of hemlocks caused by the hemlock woolly adelgid, a nonnative forest insect pest discovered in the park in 2002. Forestry experts say their loss will affect everything from stream temperatures to forest composition. Thankfully, the national park service is working tirelessly to save them. This story illustrates the inter-connectedness of all.

​The proceeds from this event support FAB’s fundraising campaign, "Be the Spark." Thanks to this initiative, FAB has secured multi-year grants totaling $300k for youth arts education in Broward County schools and launched a three-year public art program valued at $105,000. This effort aims to enhance our community and foster dialogue around the arts, making Broward a vibrant hub for creativity. We have also added up to $200,000 to our current grant program since the campaign's inception in 2022. Our goal for Art Share each year is to provide you with a platform to connect with arts supporters and gain visibility for your work.

Funding Arts Broward, (FAB) is a non-profit volunteer-based arts organization committed to preserving and cultivating the arts in Broward County, Florida. FAB’s mission is to enrich the local arts community by Funding Broward County-based arts organizations that present high-quality programs to the public.
