 Love happy surprises like seeing "Double Vision," photograph of doe and her young buck on cover of 2023 Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge, @loxahatcheefriends calendar. Plus several other images are inside. You can pick-up your copy of this calendar filled with wonderful photos by local photogs at the Visitor Center.
 "Mom and Baby" was selected by Clyde Butcher, renown photographer for wilderness photography of Florida landscapes as the top winner in the Reptile Category of the South Florida Wildlife Center in their recent Wildlife Photography Contest. Quite an honor.
It was an honor to be able to capture this intimate moment. Available in custom sizes and substrates up to 24"x36" on metal, canvas and photography paper. See more in the Wildlife Gallery.  Opening night reception at ArtServe was a quite a fantastic celebration of photography... all style, genres. You name it, it was represented. Excited to receive "We're pleased that you will be our first featured photographer..." for the Friends of Loxahatchee Refuge "Instagram Takeover". It starts July 1! I couldn't be more grateful to share the splendor and wonder of one of my favorite places. Stay tuned. @loxahatcheefriends   This male Red-winged Blackbird (top image) was doing everything he could to attract a mate from constant conk-la-ree song to fluffed-up, puffed-out bright shoulder patches. And, the beautiful Red-winged Blackbird female seemed to be making him work really hard to get her attention. Watched them well over 30 minutes and the courting continued. They seemed to take turns flying back and forth to the same area. Although, they were never at the same spot at the same time. Photographed at Green Cay Wetlands.
