For one day only - Thursday, February 29, 2024, 4:00-7:00 pm - members of the Broward Art Guild will be showcasing (and selling) their art at the grand opening reception of the Club at Boynton Beach. If your attending please stop by and say hello. I'll have a table there with a variety of pieces, including "Long Room" taken at Trinity College in Dublin during my artist residency at the Olive Staff Gallery in Listowel, County Kerry, IR. Click here for more works from the Ireland Collection.
"Red Tree" was juried into the "Seeing Red" exhibit showing now at the Broward Art Guild, 3280 NE 32nd Street, Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33308. During my Great Smoky Mountains National Park artist-in-residence I was driving up Rich Mountain Road, a serpentine dirt mountain road leaving Cades Cove, when I saw it. Stopped me in my tracks. Available 20x30 inches on metal and custom sizes and substrates. Let me know :)
And then this happened... Took a break photographing the Great Horned Owls hoping the lighting would improve or they would change position and be in better light. Went to Green Cay Wetlands Preserve with another photog friend. We witnessed this predation from Great Blue Heron from searching for prey to getting all tied up, strikes several times by the snake, to releasing snake to acquiring it again and finally flying off with it. Must say it was difficult for me to see the snake's face so close up while post processing. Number of likes (love and wow) is more than 650 so far with more than 150 comments. Snake is a brown-banded water snake.
